Dr. Rubens completed a four-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Washington, which included a ten-month fellowship in Arnhem, The Netherlands.
Following residency, he served as an attending Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, fulfilling his military obligation before entering private practice.

Professional Practice & Teaching
After leaving the Air Force in 1990, Dr. Rubens established a successful private practice in Bothell, Washington, where he served patients for over two decades. He retired in 2016 to dedicate time to his family but returned to clinical practice in 2018, driven by his enduring passion for patient care and education.
He currently serves as an attending Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at:

- University of Washington Medical Center
- Seattle Cancer Care Alliance
Dr. Rubens is also a faculty member in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Washington, actively mentoring residents and contributing to academic development.
