First Visit
What To Expect
Personalized care is our top priority.
Welcome — we’re here to make your experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible
Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know you, understand your unique needs, and begin building a relationship based on trust and communication. During this visit, which typically lasts about 30–45 minutes, we’ll take time to review your medical and dental history, discuss your goals, and answer any questions you may have. Whether you’re visiting for a consultation, an examination, or to address a specific concern, our goal is to help you feel informed, supported, and confident about your care from the very first visit.
What to Expect
During your first visit, you’ll meet with one of our doctors to review your dental and medical history, discuss your goals, and talk through your treatment options.
- For patients with urgent concerns or tight schedules, we’ll do our best to address certain issues the same day.
- In most cases, we’ve found it’s best to first meet in a calm, relaxed setting—this allows plenty of time for questions and discussion.
- This approach is especially important for children, helping them feel comfortable and confident about dental care.
If surgery or another procedure is recommended, it’s often scheduled for a later date to give you time to:
- Prepare for your procedure
- Arrange for a driver or escort if sedation will be used
- Coordinate with work or school schedules
What to Bring With You
To help us provide the best possible care, please bring:
- Any current dental X-rays or referral information from your dentist
- A list of your current medications, including doses and how often you take them
- Your completed health history form, if available
If your dentist can send X-rays ahead of time, they can often be transferred to us electronically—just let our office know. Having this information in advance helps us plan your treatment safely and effectively.
For Parents and Guardians
Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
If you can’t be present for your child’s visit, please contact us in advance to complete an authorization form allowing us to examine or treat them in your absence. We understand scheduling can be tricky, and we’re happy to help make arrangements when possible.
Understanding Your Treatment
Your right to be informed about your care is protected by Washington State law. Before any procedure, you’ll review and sign a surgical consent form—and we want you to feel completely comfortable with every detail. Your private information is also very important to you us, please also read our Privacy-Policy.
Dr. Steen, Dr. Peysakhov, or Dr. Rubens will personally review your consent with you. Please take time to read it carefully, and don’t hesitate to ask questions. Our goal is for you to feel confident, informed, and supported every step of the way.
